This is my latest cutting board. I made it for a friend at work who got it for his girlfriend. It is cherry, walnut, bloodwood and yellow heart. I thought it looked like a snake skin with the diamonds and stripes and zigzags and the color. I delivered it via a display case at the local hardware store. My buddy took his girlfriend there and acted like he just stumbled on it. It had a card on it that said Happy Birthday to her and a description of the woods. She was totally suprised and he says that she loves it.

I am most impressed with the book matching of the endgrain… that takes a bit of planning…

Very nice work. And a nice story too.
Those diamonds are cool, I gott’a try them.

Good job Sir,
Steve

Two words I don’t often use. Slick and Jazzy. Both meant as a compliment. This is definitely not run of the mill. Thanks for posting.

Wow, that’s really nice. Usually I just glance over cutting boards, but I really like this. Has a Southwestern feel to it… I’m gonna have to favorite.

Have your say...
