Found a piece of Oak Drift Wood, dried out but not rotten on the banks of the mighty mississippi last year and finally had an idea for a walking stick after my brother returned from a trip to New York and Ellis Island with a picture of a Blackthorn Shillelagh.

I love it! If you are going to fly anywhere, make sure you call it a walking stick. They frown on shillelaghs. Last time I was on a trip, I had to give up all liquids, tweezers, fingernail clippers and other dangerous weapons. Then some guy climbed on the plane with a walking stick that had at least a 1/2 lb brass head…

I have a walking stick collection because there are so many variations. I love this one!
