After I bought a table saw I thought it would be a good idea to take a class in woodworking since I haven’t done any real woodworking since high school ( Safety 1st ) . So I needed a project and what better project than another tool. After looking on the Internet I found this one at Plans now (http://plansnow.com/ultrouttabl.html ).
At the time I liked the fact that it was portable and the base could be used for other tool like a thickness planer. The top is made of 3/4” maple the same as the cabinets with two pieces of 1/4” MDF and two pieces of formica from a big box store , it had a chip in the corner so they gave me 40% off , that’s why it’s not white. The two cabinets are made of shop grade maple. I also made the fence. With some help from a friend we wired the power cord and switch. I finished it with three coats of General Finishes Arm-R-Seal Oil & Urethane Topcoat. I have a Porter-Cable 2-1/4 HP Router to put in the table. Thank you for looking I had fun building this project and Please feel free to leave comments or ask questions.

Very nice! I’ve been looking at different router table plans to see what I want to build for myself and have looked at this one at PlansNow. Have you had opportunities to use it much yet and, if so, what do you think of it now that you’ve actually used it? Any thing(s) that you would do differently if you built it again?

Thanks for posting.
