This was my first attempt at hand-cut dovetails (other than several botched practice tries using MDF). The stool is an adaption of a Weekend Project plan in ‘American Woodworker’ by Frank Klausz, and is held together only by dovetails (through, sliding, and tapered). The wood is just poplar form Home Depot because I was afraid to try it with anything better.

Looks like one fine step stool to me. Congrats on overcoming your first hand cut dovetail project. Heed my warning thought… I have a nice Leigh Super Jig sitting out in the shop and rather hand cut my dovetails now…. Weird how that works…lol
