My first shadow box. This shadow box took me 7 days to make, along with trying to do my job of course. The box is made of oak that I cut down in 2009 and dryed out when i was in Iraq. I unband the oak planks, planed the wood down to size. clamped the wood down for a week. to let in climatize the virgina humidity. Inset the Oak 1/4 Inch. The Glass in 40in X 36in THe flag is divided my oak and the blue velvit is above the Oak. Put Three coates of Clear Coat on it. In between Gloss steel wooled the intire project. Hope to hear your feed back THanks.

Now that is a big shadow box. It looks great with the oak and the blue velvet together. Of course anything looks good beside the Red White and Blue. Your project title says it is for the Master Chief. What will he put in the top section? Pictures of that would be nice. Good job. Thanks for sharing.

Nice job. Virginia humidity….....I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it. You at Norfolk or Oceana?
