UPDATE 19-08:
I am making a Marble Machine for Maron, a son from a customer who visited my site. It has a spiral elevator in the center of the cube shaped marble machine. The spiral elevator is driven by a 24 volts motor underneath the funnel shaped bottom (near the wooden xylophone). The elevator brings marbles to the top to roll down via some paths with funnels, jump tracks, nail boards, tipover, switches, etc. I started building in April 2011, it’s finished now, but i must first do some testing and finetuning before delivery.
See this video
New video uploaded
Tools used:
- router with 3/4” rounded routing bit for chute like routings perfect for marbles
- scroll saw
- band saw
- drill press
- sander
And many more
More info: See this forum topic on my site
The dimensions are 62 X 62 X 62 cm (2ft x 2ft x 2ft).
Update 19th august 2011: I have reassembled the MM and tested it before making the video. Hope you enjoy it.

Here’s a list with track elements used in this Marble Machine:
- 4 funnels
- 3 nail boards (it makes a funny noise when marbles bounce through it)
- switch board with 6 switches (flipflops) and 4 exits
- slalom tracks
- Maron name plate (a labyrinth track)
- 2 xylophones: a metal one (metalophone) and a wooden one
- Bell board with 7 bicycle bells, 3 springs and some nails
- 2 pendulums

You did a fine job on it and it looks like a lot of fun and I’ll bet that it was also a lot of fun to build as well.
