I made this simple 8×10 frame for my wife, using walnut and cherry. I routed a profile into a strip of cherry and then laminated it with glue onto both edges of my dimensioned walnut. Then I cut the miters and glued. I intended to insert walnut splines to reinforce the corners, but wasn’t confident with my makeshift jig. So I opted to reinforce with metal clips, on the back, across the joint. i finished with 2 coats of a tung oil finish (not tung oil).

Which one is the simple walnut? (My money’s on the right.) Nice choice of woods and arrangement of grain. s

Nice clean sharp miters! Miter saw or table saw?
