I just finished another clock. It’s made from Maple and an unknown wood. I was actually pretty easy to assemble now that I’ve made a few 30 degree cuts now. The only thing I’m not sure about is the hands. I might go bigger/longer, or black, or both… what do you think?

Yes to everything. Unless they have 20/10 vision, they’ll never see the time. Go big and bold.
Great clock, I wondered what it would look like with different veneers glued up to make your own hands.

Good looking clock and concept. I would suggest much longer as well as using darker wood for the hands for better visibility across the room.

I like the design but agree you should go bigger and maybe black hands would be more visable. I really like the look of this….Well done.

I like the design but I think you should ebonize the center circle to add contrast and a visual background for the clock hands.

Thanks everyone. Now I just need to find a bigger set of hands that will look good and not be to heavy for the movement.

That’s a great design for a clock.

As the others have said though, I do think the hands you have on at present get a bit lost against the wood

I took everyone’s advice and got some large, ‘plain’, black hands and I took my wife’s advice and covered the center where the cuts weren’t all perfect. I’ll post some pics soon.
