This is just a nice piece of Natural edge black cherry burl I turned into a pendant. I love making wooden pendants of the rustic and natural looking variety and this one was a favorite. I love the color on it. Almost kept it for myself but a good customer in sweden wanted it so I parted ways.

Well thanks. Now I’ll never be able to get out of the shop claiming that I don’t have enough wood to build anything or I’m too tired for anything large. Seriously, just beautiful. My daughter gets one soon. Where do you get the lovely cord with the clasp?

I like beautiful grain patterns that are in burl wood. This is a great idea for showing the beauty in the wood.

Thanks for the welcomes and comments everyone! I appreciate it.

Napoleon- I have an etsy account and I will ship pretty much anywhere. I just have a repeat customer from sweden. I mostly make pendants like this to sell. I have a lot of black cherry burl, but I also have many other woods that I like to use. Snakewood is a favorite of mine too. Ill be putting up more photos soon.

Vipond- Yeah haha I started making custom knife handles and didn’t want to just throw out the offcuts. Thats how the pendant idea came about. I make the cord myself actually. I just use round leather cord and some waxed linen for the wrap part. Makes a nice adjustable cord. If you want I can show you the knot I use.

I saw your other cherry burl pendant first and like that one a lot, but this one is even more attractive to my eye. Love that you kept the natural edge, as that seems to add that extra something to this piece.

Jonathan, I love making these natural edge ones. Some of the pieces I have don’t have it but I like these the best myself. I will be posting several others that have natural edges soon. :)
