This is a rustic chest I made for my dad one christmas. He has a collection of comic books that was just sitting around in cardboard boxes. I didn’t know what to get him until when i went over there one day and he had just ordered boxes and boxes of comic books off of ebay. So I decided to build him a chest made out of western red cedar. With the insides lined with eastern red cedar. It holds over 350 comic books. Too bad it wasn’t big enough for all of them.

I am sure your dad is proud of this chest. It is a good looking piece of furniture that is special because you hand crafted it. Sounds like another one is in order, though since he needs more storage.

Nice going; It looks very good and I’m sure that it made your dad happy.

Classic style and beautiful wood!!! I was going to suggest that you build another one only larger to hold his massive collection of comic books. BUT I’m sure that by the time it was finished his collection would have outgrown that one also.
