First off, sorry for the bad pictures. My wife quickly took them for me before her mother packed them up for the 17 hour trip back to their home. Anyway, on to the description.
The boxes are 1/2” oak ply with a colonial maple stain and have a 1/4” oak ply back (stained the same). The face frame is poplar stained with red mahogany. They are 24” wide by about 8” tall. Overall width is 5”. Hope I am right with the measurements, I’m trying to go by memory (not always a good thing).
These were commissioned by LOML as a present to her Mom so her mom’s husband can display some of his model trains. Because of the display aspect, there is a rope light all along the perimeter behind the face frame (the reason you see something like a “tail” in one of the pictures). (Had to come up with SOME way to display the models and make them visible).
All in all, it came together well. The MIL loved them, LOML was happy, and I got to play in the shop. Not a bad few days! Thanks for looking, and I hope you have a GREAT day!!!

I bet the trains will look great with the lights on. Having light come from all sides show really show them off.
