Yes, I agree. Is there a story of sorts behind this. What kind of wood(s) and finishes are involved? This is a really nice piece both from visual and construction standpoints. It would be nice to get some more details about it.

the frame of the desk are all mdf veneered cherry and burl , only the corner are solid and the carving rose-patterncopied from corinthian and louie xv and the finishes is in lacquer stained. The client requested to mixed with the modern and traditional.
