Recent Lidiya’s works are related to scenes in sauna… but in Russian way! (“Parnaya Banka” – means SAUNA). Despite exeptionaly oustanding Lidiya’s “art-naive” carvings I personally rejoice it because I have some experience in “Banya”...but not very good memories. In some places in Russia they use for “Parnaya Banka” “Samogon” (sunshine buzz) probably as a medium to purify not only the body but also a soul and since I am Polish with the same like Rissians “metabolism” (if you know what I mean?) I was trying to keep in row but it was over my limits … I remember only the headache next day. Anyone who would like to know “Russian way of life” – go for “Parnaya Banka” – perhaps, you could be more successful.

Lidiya, these are wonderful and wonderfully done as well. You are very talented.

Thank you for starting another day with laughter and a smile. szcyglic, are you referring to too much vodka and plum brandy to purify the soul, and not enough sauna to sweat the results out? I can notfind translations for parnaya banka yet, but will keep looking. Thank you for sharing.
