i worked on this plane with an old friend i purchased this book, called making and mastering wood planes with david fink, i think spelled his name right, well after reading and making note we started the first one, it was a real doosy well being that this is the first tool we have ever made but with some more reading of the book we finally finished it and i love it i have some iron wood for the next one and boy is iron wood hard to come by thx for looking guys

If it feels good when using it, I wouldn’t bother. I would say, just work with it a while and then decide. The first one I made, I used it for a few weeks and then made adjustments. You may find places that pinch or poke you when holding it to use that you don’t see just by looking.

Very nice looking plane, is that an baily style iron you modified? How did you like the book, it is one I have been dying to purchase. Oh, and what is the sole made from?

the iron is from a old stanley plane, and its made from all maple i just died the bottom,didnt have a very good selection of wood when i made, the book is great it also has plans for a hammer and a couple of jigs like ashooting board would defintly buy the book again.
