Well we just got back from a driving vacation that took us through Lancaster Pa., ( Amish country )

We could not pass up this beautiful wall hanging… but I was not going to buy one of there frames.

This is a very simple project, great for a beginner. All it took was 2 pieces of Cherry, about 2.5” x 32”. In the front piece I put in 3 threaded inserts,to receive bolts through the back piece. I also eased the edges of the top piece with .25” rounds over bit.

Then in the back pieces, a shallow rabbit lined with door insulating foam to softly grip the hanging, in the back a full length T groove to hang it, and finally 3 holes to bolt to the front piece.

Planed it smooth, and finished with 3 coats of amber shellac.

Just a easy project for someone starting out.

Be safe.

perfectly and thoroughly done, you do the hanging proud. Yes, great for beginners. I love the T groove, I’ll use it myself now, never thought of it before. gene
