This is not typically a carving wood but then again I am not your typical wood carver.

Very nice ! what is the wood specie used and the finished size ? Keep it coming ! I am curious about the size and type of wood in the butterfly you photographed held up to the sky ! Very nicely done !

This piece is honey locust. More or less of a decorative tree these days. There is a picture of the piece beside a penny to show its relative finished size. I’ve also posted a new picture of the previous butterfly. That one is maple. I made one yesterday out of wood from a tulip tree. It should make it’s way here soon. Thanks Don.

You know by now I love all your work, this is no different. Amazing work, looks simple but you have a knack of making things difficult, look easy. Nice work.
