This ‘Seaside Pelican’ is waiting for his lunch. Made from 82 pieces of wood consisting of Oak, Walnut, Mahogany, Pine and Yellow Cedar. All of the pieces were cut out on the scroll saw, then shaped, sanded and glued back together. Some parts of the pelican have different thicknesses to give the effect of dimension. The bird was then given two coats of varnish and mounted on a 24”x24” piece of birch and framed. This item is now hanging in the front entrance of my home.

82 pieces, you are a patient guy. I have a simpler project in mind for a contemorary sign for my shop. Did you do the drawing and the layout?
