I have made this wooden toy before but instead of painting I relied on using different wood species to add color contrasts. This time the toy is painted using non-toxic water based paints. When pulled, the two guys pump the handles so there is quite a bit of action to it. It will be donated at Christmas along with others for children of needy families.

Thanks for looking.

I like theese kinds of toys but have been reluctant to make them for my own kids becuase I am unsure if they can take the abuse they would surely get. Very cool though!

Lotidus:

For sure kids abuse toys. However, my approach is to hope that some child will react to a “nice” toy by taking care of it ( development of a sense of responsibility ). If that happens on a ratio of 1 in 10 then the effort of making the toys has been worthwhile.
