Made this jewelry box for a graduating grand-daughter. Top and legs are made from black walnut and the box is from cherry. Used a spray on poly finish and after curing, rubbed it out and waxed it…

Sharp looking Jewelry Box, beautiful wood, contrasting color, and fine craftsmanship, the mortised hinges, lip to make a old fashioned seal for the lid, and the interior work all add interest and style, Your Grand-daughter will love it, thanks for sharing

Looks nice Carl. Can you give a little more detail on the finish? I like the spray on varnish but it leaves the orange peel look. How did you rub it out?

What a beautiful box. And I’m sure it will be all the more special to your grand daughter because you made especially for her.

That is the most demure opening arrangement. Perfect for a jewelry box. The appliques are also a very nice touch.
