This birdhouse is a simple box made out of hickory and walnut. To better tie the walnut door in, I added a thin hickory strip to each side of the door. The door is accented with four 10 gauge copper wire wraps that are equally spaced around the entry hole. The metal roof is cut from a paint and rust stripped shelf unit I found on the side of the road. Twisted copper pins on the side hold the door closed. Sanded to 400 grit and finished with 5 coats of rubbed poly.

Both your copper bird houses look really cool!
A slight design change and they could turn into a great arts&crafts mailbox
