My granddaughter wanted to get her music teacher something special, a, end of school year gift.
She also wanted to include all her classmates.

Callie did all the typesetting and her dad Chris, did the artwork and a friend of his (Mellow) worked at a sign shop and made the plaque.

I got the honor of coming up with a base to hold it, over the weekend. It is a chunk of purple heart.
I kind of used the Andy style carving method.
Not sure how we all pulled this off but I can say it turned out great and the pictures surely don’t do it justice.
She gave her teacher the award on stage in front of the school assembly. Her teacher was thrilled.
Thanks for looking

-- Chuck

You should make a sculpted box next.

Greg,

That has been on my list of things I want to make. I see you have made some. They look real nice.

Very nice! You are a box maker in process! Went back through your projects and I can see your progression. Even though this is a collaborative project it shows your evolution? I have some ideas for a friend who is an artist and I’m hoping that it will just fit together when I attempt it. LOL Been watching the box makers creative progress. Like Greg and Andy? Looking to see what’s next?

I am sure the teacher loved it! Well, done, Chuck!

Beautiful work. The sculpting on that base is phenominal and the finish looks perfect. Actually, that base looks like a fancy dessert with chocolate iceing.
