This is the Last longboard I completed. The top veneer sheet is some sort of burled wood I got from a friend, but I’m not quite sure what type of wood it is… any ideas?

Ok this may be stupid ! What is the differents in a long board as per a short board ?

I’m not trying to be a smart a** , but I don’t even know what it is for I think it is for surfing

Since you are on the west coast , It looks like Eucalyptus or Redwood burl that’s a guess through. I lived in L.A. for awhile and worked for a millwork co. there . That is what we used for local veneer. I remember surfing down there it was so cold a wet suit was mandatory goood luck hang ten as we used to say.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, this is actually a skateboard deck. the difference between a ‘skateboard’ and a ‘longboard’ is that one is for just cruising and one is used in skateparks for tricks and things.
