My wife had this on her Christmas list in the first spot. She got a coupon for it at Christmas, and I finally got it built in June. I poured 2’ x 2’ footers, and used brackets to hold up the 6×6 posts. All the members are through bolted with 1/2” hot dipped galvanized bolts. The benches are 5/4 decking with stainless screws, and the lattice on the top is stapled on. All the wood is treated lumber, and I left it unfinished. Thanks to my brothers Shawn and Bruce for their help with transporting and putting up the big timbers. We planted Confederate Jasmine at al four corners, that will grow up and cover the top, providing shade. This project was modeled after the one my brother Shawn built in his back yard about a decade ago. (His jasmine is all grown up over the top of the pergola) The last picture shows the hammock and hammock chair. My wife made the chair herself! Thanks for looking.

Very nice. I like the built-in benches. I have one of these on my list too.
