Im lovin’ this site , The feed back has been great and helpful. So I’m going to keep posting till someone tells me to stop. These are some my turnings. My best stuff has found there ways into to others homes. I keep the rejects. But i still like these three. One is a teak candy dish, the other is a bocote( I think ) bowl I turned on my jet midi. The mallet is all cocobolo. I turned the handle first , then the head. Bored a hole, and fit the handle on and secured it with a wedge. I haven’t smacked anything with this one yet, I like it too much. All the finishes are friction polish applied on the lathe. Tell me what you think, just don’t hurt my feelings.LOL

You really shouldn’t do anything this drastic with the mallet. It is much too gorgeous to use as a simple tool. Put it on the shelf and let everyone admire it. Your turnings are gorgeous. Please keep them coming.
For those of us who are turning deprived these works are an inspiration.

Very nice work, if those are the rejects I cant wait to see the good stuff. I would love to make a mallet like that myself but I would fear that it would be used on me when I come home from one of my tool buying adventures. I’m not sure I want such a weapon within my wifes reach.
