well i heard there was something of color here, so i came back to look…all i notice is some rag laying there next to some kind of stool….maybe that is what the rag was for…someone left something of color on the stool..or maybe someone left a stool with some really good color and the rag is needed to clean it up…....but …i guess the best thing to do is to just take the rag with the color on it..and rub it on us…..then we could come back to this post and wow people with our cool color…...what do you think gary…....

Be sure to use a very durable finish, because your friend’s wife is going to be stepping all over that color.

Good looking stool, Gary. We have some of that wood up here and, unless I’m mistaken, that’s “box elder” which in western New York is scrub maple. Nice work!

Box Elder has to be one of my all time favorite looking woods.

Makes for a stunning project. Great Job

What an awesome looking step stool Gary! I still have my pieces of flaming box alder I twisted Jud’s arm over out in the shop. Cant for the life of me decide what I want to do with it yet. Its such a pretty wood its OK to be patient (or at least I keep telling myself that…lol)

Good stuff Gary!

Just looking at it. Your box elder is much nicer than mine. Can’t find that much color up here. Love it.
