I found a Veritas Handscrew Kit at a garage sale a few months ago and had some time today to make them. The kit comes with the the threaded rods, the pivoting nuts and the handles, all I had to do was find a good piece of wood and get to it. I had a piece of spalted Maple which was about the right size and the spalting was not soft like it so often can be. So I cut it to size, drilled, mortised with a chisel, sanded and coated it with BLO. Added all the hardware and now have a couple more clamps for the shop. Not bad for a buck and a bit of time.

Nice addition to your clamping arsenal, I like the octogon handles.
