This was my first experience with mesquite. I sawed the wood from a mesquite log a friend brought me from the ‘Hill Country” of Tx. This wood finishes unbelievably nice. Sand it to 220 and it feels like glass! Dimensions are 15×7x5 1/2”. Finish is Min Wax Tung Oil Finish. Bottom was doweled in place rather than dadoed.

Beautiful wood, craftmanship and finish! I especially like the live-edge! I’ll be looking for some mesquite to take things out of. Gorgeous!

Dimensional allusion with those photos! If you’d told me it was 4’ long and weighed 50 pounds I would have believed it!
Fantastic results! My eyes fall straight to the live edge.
