My version of a bird house for the LJ contest. Like millions of others I am addicted to “Angry Birds” and I though what other type of bird house could do other than an angry bird. To build I printed a drawing up in poster form, Glued it to a piece of 1/4 hardboard, and cut it out with the scroll saw. I used this for a pattern to cut out Baltic birch plywood with a pattern cutting bit in the router. Then I stacked them and screwed them in layers. There are 11 3/4” layers in all. The front and back pieces are the full cut-out but, the middle pieces are round with a cut out in the center. Not having a spindle sander I just used body filler to get the outside smooth and flush. Painted it with latex paint.

Awesome.
I would leave a longer comment, but I’ve got some pigs to kill.

Funny stuff and a great take on a modern cultural phenomenon, not to mention, time-waster!

Love your project but it wrong. There should be pigs hanging from the tree and you should have made a giant sling shot and smaller birds to shoot at it.

Sorry for not commenting sooner. I appreciate all of the comments and support. @ Rex Intend on making several more of the birds and some of the pigs. I would make the pigs bigger but, this one is about 12” wide, a pig that much larger would scare the birds and the neighbors.
