I built this cedar chest for my grandmother in 1970 as a high school wood shop project. I inherited after she passed away and it sat in my basement storage area for 17 years. Then I decided to man it up a little and repurpose it as a toy box for myself. Added Alder trim. Replaced the cedar top with alder. Finished with mahogany danish oil, 2 coats of Arm-R-Seal, and mahogany wax. Also added wrought iron trim and hinges. I wish I would have taken a before picture.
