Cheap wood means lots of splinters, and a bench.

A buddy of mine brought in a pallet to work. He knew I was into woodworking and gave it to me. I cut it into many pieces, mainly out of boredom, then decided to make a bench. I tried to explain it to my wife, so then I drew a picture (attached). I tried to document the steps, but I think you can see it for yourself. So I started at around 11 and finished at 3…my wife works Saturday’s.

You can also see a birdhouse on the table…my oldest son (12) and I built that a few weeks ago.

Those are the best projects to me. Have some wood and decide by what you have what you can build. Nice bench, I can see a checker game or two in its future.

Excellent – love the idea of people reusing wood. Really looks nice and a shady spot for as well! Thanks for sharing.

Master Sergeant, I’m a Tech myself and I partly made it because my grandmother is coming to visit and she likes to hang out outside. It’s 6 p.m. here and it’s still 100 degrees. She might sit on it once.

Jack, I moved it around to the back, that’s where the sun sets and Jim I actually drank all of the tea while making it…it’s ice water now.

db, thank you…he has about 10 more so I might pick some up and make him a bench for the wood he gave me.
