I had this cedar blanks and wanted to do something different.t than the original bowl so I figured I’d try a hollow kidded box. This was my first time trying it. After the first trial going through the side of the box I was more careful on this one. Then I thought a lid would look good on it, then after turning the lid I thought a final would set it off. After completion I thought it turned out better than.expected. sanded to 320 with 4 coats of BLO. TADA!!! Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.

Chuck, I love the smell of Cedar. My wife think it stinks. She says it smells like hamster bedding. I say at least it dont smell like it after its been used. I love turning it. Cuts like butter with a sharp gouge. Thanks.

Thanks Jamie

Thanks Ron. I also love the color of Cedar, especially when you get the sap wood and the heart wood color in the same piece.

Stephen, thanks for the comment. I tried to get both sap wood and heart wood in the box and lid.

Thanks Murch, I am proud on this piece.

Finally someone has come up with a good use for Easter Red Cedar. Nice.
