Odd as this may seem, I had a dream about this guy. So I woke up the next morning and got to work. I had this old mesquite log I picked up a while back rolling around in the bed of the truck so I thought why not? I drilled deep holes in the bottom and used a chisel and mallet to hollow it out. Then I carved the face using the knot as his eye and the branch as his nose. I burned the design into it to accent the carving. Then I proceeded to do surgical hair plugs. He looked a little shocked with the results so I added a cedar tongue (Thought the birds might find it appealing) and here he is in all his glory. What a fun weekend project…

Really like your dream man, bit the rough for wear, but what can you expect when you sleep in the bed of
a pickup for so long. Is this your candidate for the birdhouse contest? Thank you for sharing.
