My birdhouse...yeesh

So I know that I have no way of winning this contest with this thing, but just saw it sitting in my mom’s laundry room and since I knew I don’t have time to make a new one before the contest ends I figured I would take photos of it.

It was made in high school woodshop about 7 or 8 years ago. Pine with roofing shingles. Don’t think it was ever finished with anything. It had originally been more squared off along the wall, but I used a sander and rounded it all over.

Gotta love the gaps in the joints, the unevenness, and the visible nails and drywall screws. Regardless I still kinda like the design and my mom really loves it. Maybe next time I’ll do better.

Hey, you could always say it’s an ugly house for ugly birds! There’s always a certain charm to early projects like that.

Ben, you got my vote with this one! I love the shingles; nothing but the best for the birds!

Even though there is not a one pictured i do not adore, i had to think of it this way… if i had to have one at my house (that was not a drywall screw box with still a half a pound of my 2 inchers buried beneath the nest!! -still have that one! took the screws out though, sad, the eggs are still in it; i guess mom died, or it got too cold or something…anyways…) liked this one a lot…simple, not square…nice!
