I need to finish a couple of benches! ...but, we cut this down the other day, and i saw that pretty pink calling me!!

I set out to just make some hairpins for the owner…not something i make a habit of, but…

...you know, sometimes we go to cut a tree, and the owner is just like…”yeah, nothing’s wrong with it, it’s just messy, and I’m tired of raking up the …” ...I don’t care if future generations have shade or oxygen…
-but these folks were very sad to have to cut down this very rotten, hollow in the crotch box elder, and i thought they seemed worthy of a little perk, after all, it was their tree, and they did pay me to remove it.

-the yellow is grape mahonia

That grain & color of the stuff you made was out of this world.
And in the end, that tree was honored by not going to waste but gaining new life in the things made from it.
Good job Christine.

I really like the 1st pick. The grain just has so much going on, a leaf in whirl wind, a fish just let the imagination run wild.
Nice work.

The color of that wood is awesome. Nice work on those turnings, I’m sure they’ll love them. Sweet touch with the duct tape wrap too BTW.

When I saw the first pic, I thought it was turned. That’s why I try not to think too much, not to mention it hurts. : ) At any rate, the spoon and hair pins look great. Nice job!
