It’s rare but every once in again I get a couple extra minutes in the shop to goof off and today was the day to try inlaying some copper. I have been wanting to do this for a awhile now but. Anyways this was more of a test than anything but cool to say the least. Now while I have done inlay by hand this time I opted the use of the CNC. The pic shows some 0.02” copper inlayed into a piece of Bubinga with a coat of Permalac to seal the copper and couple coats of satin lacquer to seal the wood. Nothing special really just thought I would share.

The font is Monotype Corsiva. Unfortunately, what I was unable to capture in the picture is I guess what I would call chatoyancy when the sunlight hits the copper! Oddly enough the picture was taking with the piece on the top of my car, LOL
