Dresser Valet

Project by Greg Salata posted 640 days ago 1038 views 20 times favorited 18 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I made this valet for my son.
It is made with cherry and walnut.

The top is a piece of deerskin.
Black velvet inside the drawer.

The original design was from wood magazine years ago that I changed to suit my taste.

Very nice project Greg. Walnut and cherry are a combination of woods I especially like. I am sure that your son appreciated the gift.

Thanks for sharing.

This is really nice. I am in the beginning phase of building a valet for my boss. I may re-think a few of the design features. I like yours a lot. Great job and great details. Favorited!

Thanks for all of the kind words and encouragement.
The deer hide was attached to a panel with spray adhesive then set in a rabbet in the frame.

Really nice box, Greg. I like the way you inset the top panel in the side grooves.

I like the stepped top in the back and the drawer. I just made a dresser valet for a customer two weeks ago, and I wish I had seen yours first. It is beautiful. K”

Very nice valet. That is a gorgeous hunk of wood in the background as well.
