These are projects that got me into Woodwroking

Project by John's Woodshop posted 657 days ago 307 views 1 time favorited 9 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I made these projects while I was in 9th grade, my Mom still uses them in her home. After completing them I was bit with the Woodworking Bug. A couple of little tables and a hand carved nut dish. We also turned some candle holders but I don’t have a picture of those. It’s too bad most schools have done away with woodshop.

Thanks for looking,
John

Edit: I forgot to mention that I am now 50 so they have held up pretty good.

JWS I agree with you on the school shop thing, I got my start there to. Great tables!

Great jobs! I really like the legs on that last one.

These are wonderful projects for a 14 year old. At 14 I couldn’t even use a hand saw much less even think about producing something like this. Hey, who I am kidding I would love to produce something that looks like this now.

Nice post. Thanks for sharing.

These are awesome projects for a kid. Heck, I’d be proud to post them now!

Thanks all for your very kind comments. It’s probably a good thing my Mom has had them. I have 6 kids and there is no telling what they would look like if they had spent any time in our home :)

Thanks again!
John
