Here is my version of the fishing reel. As you can see i bought a plastic roll holder since i dont have a lathe to turn one. This would be much better if i had a bandsaw and a drill press but i really enjoyed making is walnut cherry and pine. Finish is dewaxed shellac three coats rub on poly and two coats of wax.

I want to thank fellow lumberjock DEEMAN for the effort he put forth in getting me the plans just want to show you it was appreciated and used. Thanks very much!!! Thanks to all you guys for looking and your helpful comments.

Wow, very clever and very nice ! Does the toilet paper roll down when you turn the handle?

no it doesnt was thinking of doing that but due to the offset handle i didnt. would be easy to do if you moved the handle to the center but you would have to shorten it so it doesnt hit the wall when turned

What a brilliant idea. I have a friend who just turned 65 and it’s very hard to know what to give/make him for a gift. He’s a keen fisherman…... Perhaps you’ve solved the problem. By the way, your project is fabulous. Thanks.
