I made this table when I first started woodworking 3 years ago so its not too fancy. Top is engineered, prefinished hardwood flooring scraps my brother gave me with the Longhorn hide glued to plywood in the middle. Legs are 2×4 studs, shelf is plywood with iron on red oak veneer my wife had. I would sure use different materiels now but it has been useful and that finish on the flooring is indestructable. Dimensions are 48×27x20”. Everything in this table was someone else’s trash which makes it fun for me.

I like it! Brings back memories of my first dining table. 6” long, 4’ wide, 4X4 legs 3/5 plywood top with 1/2” redwood strips glued on. Oak apron, stud lumber stretchers. Odd looking but serviceable.

Grizz – The top isnt as thick as it looks. There is a 2×2 frame under the top with the legs and top attached to it. The trim also further adds to the illusion of thickness. Alistair’s wife wont like your horn either!

MY wife and I would both enjoy your work I am reffering to a friend of mine an engineering friend and his nutty wife he tells me of some of the things she has done like making him walk all the way back to the biscuit isle at the supermarket because there was butter in the biscuits .I made the mistake of buying him a leather apron for woodcarving and she went hysterical according to my pal Fred she cried all night Long .Anyway we do like your work sorry about my misunderstanding of your post. I would say your contribution to this table was significant. But the cow made a true commitment!

No Andy it’s actually very sad I have had my elderly friend Fred on the telephone in tears many times she makes his life a total misery all she uses him for is shopping and carrying. He’s very sad a lot of the time she’s a real fanatical nut I wonder how he puts up with it she’s twenty years younger than him and is genuinely not a nice person,he’s the nicest guy you could wish to meet.He said if the house were his hed be rid of her but he’s stuck she has the money and the house in her name. God bless my dear friend I am off to bed. Alistair
