I needed/wanted an assembly table for the garage shop and originally used SketchUp to design one. Then I measured the space I had and found that I didn’t have the room for it! I decided to pare it down a bit and this is what I ended up with: A rolling cabinet with a back that folds up and sets on sawhorses for a large-ish assembly area. So far I’ve only used it as an assembly table once but it’s worked like a dream. I can put 3-4 tools on it while I’m cutting, drilling, etc. and then clear it off to put stuff together/finish (That’s my current project sitting on it in picture 2). It was my first attempt at cabinetry so the doors are a little jacked up—though I did learn from that. You’ll notice that the first picture shows some casters and the second doesn’t. Lesson learned: don’t go with cheap casters.
