Another project for my Intro to Woodworking class. Based on a A&C tote design by David Sellery in The Toolbox Book by Jim Tolpin. My modifciations were the G&G accents and removeable tool holders. The wood is walnut with lyptus accents.

Neat design. I really like the G&G flair you gave it :)

It probably won’t see much actual use only because I don’t have a real need to carry my WW tools outside of the shop. I have one more contest that I want to enter in and then I will probably give it to my Dad to say thanks for teaching me to work with my hands.

Your dad will be very fortunate to receive that gift, but it is you who got the bigger benefit of his teachings.

Awesome tote – something that nice HAS to be given away as a gift.

Could make a life as a magazine/newspaper rack. Nicely done. Too pretty for work-a-day abuse.

Very nice. This is too nice to use for carrying tools. It should be put on a display shelf so that it can be fully appreciated.

My thanks to everyone for the comments.

To Bob A in NJ – Plans? We don’t need no stinkin’ plans. Just kidding. I did make a plan for this project. It was a requirement for the course. However, I used Visio for the drawings, not exactly a CAD program I know. It was what I had to work with at the time.

After I submitted the plan and began the build, I found that I need to make some changes to make the tote look and work right. I made some changes to certain parts of the drawings and, in the process, lost other parts of the drawings.

I’d be happy to post any pictures and answer any questions. Obviously the overall dimensions are variable depending on your individual needs. My dimension were limited by the material I had on hand.

Hi WoodJack,

I would be interested in the finger joint construction technique. I am about to start some drawers on my current project.

Hi WoodJack;

I’d be more inclined to tote a baby around in that, than my tools!

Beautiful job.

Good luck with the entry.
