I made this cabinet to get the DP off the workbench and to provide some precious storage area. The cabinet is made of baltic birch. The edgebanding on the front of the cabinet, the drawer front and trim are lyptus, handles are maple.

How did you get it to mount on the wall like that? ;)

Seriously, it looks good. I’ve always believed there was no reason for shop furniture to not have some style!

Very nice.
I would very much like to have one of those.
I’ve never worked with lyptus. It seems to show well.

Way too nice for a shop! I made a similar cabinet for my DP…with simple maple edgebanding and the cheapest drawer pulls I could buy. I think I’ll go sulk in a corner now!

Very nice.

Love it. Where else but in the shop should the furniture you use daily
not look good?

Great design, and love the lyptus.

Alright now, put that in the house NOW! You’ll muck it up if it stays in the shop. Way too pretty for hard labor, she’s a beauty deserving of proper treatment. Now if you can’t see fit to keep it in the house then crate it up and send it shipping collect to…

Great stuff, bro.

always,

Absolutely stunning cabinet. I love the drawer pulls. Another favorite. Hmm… But I did get a crick in my neck looking at it.

Thanks to all for the compliments.

I finally figured out how to get the pictures right-side up.

For the most part, one of my philosophies is that building nice shop furniture is good practice for nice home funiture when I get the chance. With that said, I have also made some quick & dirty utilitarian pieces for the shop.

Thanks, again.

Very nice cabinet. This sure beats the one I made out of mdf. The posts of nice looking shop furniture that have appeared on this site have make a believer out of me that form and function can be put into shop furniture.

Thanks for sharing.

Interesting. I did take my classes at Cerritos CC but I don’t recall seeing these drawer pulls there. Maybe I did subconciously. I was taking Tony Fortner’s Intro class at the time I came up with the design for the Tool Tote and these drawer pulls. I actually adapted the pull design from a picture of some pulls on a G&G piece that came across. That’s probably why there’s a similarity.

And let me guess, the lingerie is kept in a metal Craftsman tool chest?

Exquisite. And functional. What more could you ask for? The pulls are SO cool.

Love this cabinet Woodjack. Here’s another example of of guys having nicer furniture in their shops than I have in my house. I’ll be in the corner sulking with Patrick.
