Finally finished my birdhouse for the contest.
I think everyone here knows the feeling when your’e working for a couple of weeks on something..
there was more energy at the start :).
The house is build from everything i had laying around. The roof is some kind of stone, i took it out a dumpster
a while ago but have no clue what it is.
There is a solid base of 3 boards for the foundation, which i bolted to the base of the house.
From there started adding stuff.
The darker peaces of wood are from a demolished garden chair.
I then made strips from my leftover peaces of oak, and nailed it everywhere i could.
There are 4 big rooms, and 1 sort of front hiding place at the door.
For maintenance the back pieces are removable.
I added picture 6 to give some dimensions.

update; some pictures of it on the posts it sits now.
i also gave it some varnish..

Whoa! It’s spectacular! You’re in the running, brother. You must be one laid back dude, as you don’t look too enthused in the last photo;)

^I hear you, man. I like your work, particularly because it appears so substantial. I’m anxious to see more of it.

If I commissioned a birdhouse from an HMC grad ,

I would expect it to look just like this .

Just some scraps nailed together ?

No , more like an architect’s model …....Very cool , Thomas .

What tools would you buy with the prize money ?

Thomas, that is some birdhouse!
Those birds are going to have to “wipe their feet” before entering such a grand establishment!
I think you have a very good shot at the birdhouse contest with that entry!

Bird house?
Hell, I wouldn’t mind a house with those looks for myself!
It carries a Colorado mountain/Craftsman sort of look.
Even more empressive that you used/reused your material in such an artful way.

And… Just F.Y.I. I am pulling my entry.
Competing with talent such as this would be like white water rafting with a spoon.
