Project Information

I built this cabinet for a friend at work. He wanted something differant to go in a hallway. It is walnut with baltic birch drawers. The drawers are all dovetailed with 100 lb full extention drawers. I finished the back just in case it gets moved in the middle of a room. The finish is 2 coats of Tung oil, 1 coat of wipe on poly, followed by another poly coat sanded with 500 grit wet sandpaper, 2 more coats of poly and finished with a coat of paste wax. It took several months to complete but the finish turned out better than I thought. The grain pattern was supposed to flow from the bottom to the top, but it hard to see in the photos.
