This is for a old friend of mine. She asked for a box that would sit on her coffee table and hold pictures. This is what I came up with. It is mahogany with curly maple inlay. Thanks for looking and any feed back would be great.

It looks real nice. How did you hinge the top?

I used 3/16 in brass pins through the sides and into the lid. I have them set back so that the lid rotates outside of the box. You can just barely see them in the first picture. I know the pictures are not great. The batteries in my camera were dead this morning so I had to use my iphone. Once I get some new bats, I can take better pics so it is easier to see if you would like. Thanks
I started using this method of hinging boxes after I built some boxes in the Andy Palm Box style.

The cross is for my friend, she is catholic and has a very deep faith. I am personally buddhist. As long as a persons beliefs lead them to better themselves and to help others, the religion isn’t that important to me.

Yes Joey, I feel the same way, Cindy has a book with very cool sayings from Buddha, “When you realize how perfect everything is you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky” -Buddha-
