After years of making a bunch of cutting boards for friends and family, I finally decided to make one for myself. And ironically it’s the most plain looking without any fancy designs or multiple woods, since I wanted that simple yet elegant look to it. I made it thicker than normal and added rubber bumper feet using stainless steel screws. It’s finished with 50% thinned salad bowl varnish and a light coat of mineral oil.

Now I’m actually afraid to use it!! Now I know how all my recipients feel!!

Nice job, Jayman…you’re so right…simpler IS better!

That looks smart, nice job.

The simple things in life are sometimes the best. I have made many CB’s, but never one for myself. I will probably make just a plain walnut for me to use.
