The native people of Australia, the Aboriginal, have their own flag which was designed by Elder Harold Thomas and recognised by the Australian goverment in 1971. The yellow is for the sun as life giver, the red is for the relationship to the land and black for the Aboriginal people, as in photo #6.
I have used osage for yellow, padauk for red and ebony for black. I built and turned four different designs.
I hope you like them.

Very nice Sam, your choice of woods work well for their flag. Great looking pens.

Sam, what marvelous pens you’ve made, I’m very impressed. When I first saw them I thought “Wow, what a coincidence they look like the Aboriginal flag”.
I work at a school in Victoria Australia and I’m the Aboriginal Liason Officer. I see this flag often, in fact I wear one on my lapel.
Well done, regards Hagrid
