My little helper helped me build this toy box with a chalkboard in the lid. The chalkboard was my wife’s idea (she discovered chalkboard paint). It was very simple to build. I cut out hand notches to keep little fingers from getting smashed and put wheels on the bottom for Mom. Jodi did the paint job.

Great project for your little cutie : )

I wonder how long the chalkboard paint will last….I’ve seen it before , but haven’t used it myself.

Good looking toy box. Nice touch with the chalkboard in the lid.

Nice idea about the chalkboard lid. Did you put a notched arm under the lid so it can also be used as an easel? Tell your wife I also like chalkboard paint! :)

Great job!! Nice design – like the chalk board top, finger cut outs & the wheels.

Your little helper sure looks happy with her new toy box. What a great design and the memories made while building it are priceless. I am impressed.

The box is about 2 years old now and my helper now has a little sister & a new brother to help her use it. The chalkboard has held up very well.
Time to build more I guess.
