This is my first hammer beam I looked at a lot of pictures before i came up with my design it was all cut from eastern white pine milled locally . We have a great old mill nearby that cuts my timbers . I also had another guy with a portable mill but I just heard he is getting out due to the economy. i taught a crew of good carpenters how to timber frame and this is what we got . we even did an old fashioned raising . That’s a story for another day.

TOTALLY AWESOME! I’ve seen these before only from outside. I’ve always wondered if it carried through inside or was applied for the look. I love the drop finials. You’ve really outdone yourself. how tall is the peak?

I need a shop to replace my garage about the same size… Beautiful work! What is the building used for? Looks like a museum for wooden boats.
