I needed a desk and the ones I saw on display at Target had broken hinges and the MDF was chipping off. So I did the math in my head and said to myself, “Self, I could probably buy the wood to make the desk and still have money left over.” I think I made the right choice. It was an excuse to make a taper jig (Oh, how I do love making jigs so). In the end, I had a sturdy desk, enough wood to make several other projects, and also learned how to fill pores on Mahogany. Another successful project in the can!
